Table Runner updates .
Updates Pictures.
This became fun to work on . was fast and a great back ground filler .
Using the 4oz wadding really did give this design that puffy look .
The quilted free motion feathers were given that extra touch by using hyperquilting .
This was the last section to finish off .
Here is the finished project .. measuring 16" x 32" inches .
Happy Quilting .

Feathers and flowers table runner .
Table runner.
Started this project yesterday , using some cotton sateen coral blue fabric ,
First thing first was to draw out an outline of my design using chalk . . remembering this is only a guide for me to follow.
Made up the quilt sandwich using ploy / cotton batting , some muslin fabric for the backing.
The threads that im using are Marathon 40wt , bottomline bobbin thread 60wt lint free off white.
I like to quilt from the bottom up on my designs working towards myself .
Looking good so far.
Happy Quilting .
Once the entire design has been quilting i will start on echo quilting and filler designs.

Prewound bobbins .
Prewound bobbins .
Ordered them online at the week end , Ten arrived this morning , with 150 meters of Maderia bobbin thread in white .
They are tight fit , you can remove the cardboard from both sides . they work well in both my Singer and Frister Rossmann quilting machine . .
The thread that Im using mostly in my projects now are
Marathon Rayon thread.
YLI Ultrasheen ,
Anchor Alcazar viscose Rayon .
I find working with all these threads while using the prewound bobbins have given
me the finish that ive been looking for , they also help eliminate thread build up when Hyperquilting or free motion quilting , no more breaks or hang ups with the tension either.
So if you havent givent these little beauties a try and you find that you are having a few lower thread tension
problem , try out them out and see how you go .

Quilted Table Runner .
Quilted Table Runner .
Ive picked out this fabric , its one that i dyed the other week , ive used some polydown polyester
batting for the sandwich with a plain lavender fabric backing . using 505 spray to keep the whole sandwich together .
Used some paper stuck together to make the 48inch strip , so that i can draw out my design .
the separate feather details with a fine chalk pencil .
so far i have used a teal coloured thread for the outline .
updates later .

Wall Hanging Hyperquilting update pictures .
Wall Hanging
Hyperquilting Update.
I'm very pleased this one is finished , used colours to match the fabric .
Here you will find a number of pictures showing you the finished item .
As you will notice i have used some of the fabric that i tie dyed the other week . this final border was quilted using a variegated sulky rayon thread , and a corresponding colour in the bobbin in polyester . both by Gutermann machine Threads .
All the guide lines of the stems were drawn out first , then i did my best to match the feather designs as
i went along .
Here is the center filler designs .
Enjoying myself so much , its knowing when to stop . ....
The outer filler quilting i used a pebble design .
The finished corner designs .

Feathers Feathers everywhere..
Free motion feathers .
Thought i would start of showing you the patchwork block design that i created using a mixture
of cotton and cotton sateen .. this gives a lovely sheen to your quilting work .
First i marked out the feather border stem line, before going ahead and getting started on
the central wreath design .
Marking out the designs free hand with chalk does help you keep on track with the outlines.
Starting out with the outer and inner rings then filling in with the feathers.
this time i thought of dressing it up a little by adding some gold circles .
Hyperquilting has become my new favorite , with so much coloured thread
out there to play with . It came really change your design and give it a complete new look .
Now the central wreath is complete using a mixture of gold, green and mergenta .
Adding the feather borders was fun to work with , and completed the look .

feather Hyperquilting.
Hyperquilting.
Still trying out the new machine .. Im Hyperquilting this morning .
Still got a few tweaks to make to get everything running smoothly ., had ago at using the machine stop/start
button and setting the speed . . it allows you to start off slowly and then reaches up to the speed you have set., therefore set your speed a little slower at first to get use to it , as it feels like the machine can run away with itself .
Looks like this machine perfers Rayon thread the best .. and botton line in the bobbin.
Using Superior Topstitch needle 90/14 , open toe quilting foot .
just love the idea of using different colour to create that new look .
Finally add a loose quilted filler spiral design .

Hyper Quilting Practice .
Hyper Quilting .
After watching a few tutorials on the subject i thought i would give this ago .
The fun part is adding as little or as much as you like . Introducing bright bold colours of thread
this can transform a quilted designs into something even more pleasing to the eye . the hardest part of this
is knowing when to stop ..
Here are a couple of practice pieces of me attempt at Hyper Quilting .
I started with a swirling free form feather, then went hyper quilting ..
By adding a number of different coloured threads and designs to your already quilted design you can bring more of the wow factor
to your project .
Happy Quilting
Julie
