Wall Hanging.

I love the combination of using black fabric as the main colour .
Ive been looking around the usual places for inspiration especially using free form feathers .

Thought i would give it a try .
Here is the first stage of piecing  together the fabric with 2oz wadding and batting ready to
quilt on the design . I marked out the main stems with chalk and then quilted the feathers as i went
along . .

I used a silk gold thread throughout .
Once i got to work the feathers seem to just flow . and then for the filler design i used a red thread
and just echoed the design.

And here is the finished piece .
